Using Files

IntelligentVIEW insights are driven by postal codes, or FSA’s if you do not have the full postal code. When you profile something in the system you are profiling the postal codes within the file. This is how you generate insights reports and the data is completely anonymized and privacy compliant.

Tips when working with files:

  • intelligentVIEW only works with CSV (comma delimited) files.

  • The name must be alpha-numeric and follow Microsoft Windows file naming conventions.

  • Avoid using the minus (-) character in your filename.

  • Include ONLY postal codes, no other data.

  • Leave duplicate postal codes in the file to weigh the data appropriately.

  • After upload, you will be given a record count AND total unique postal codes in the file.

  • intelligentVIEW is not case sensitive.

  • Postal codes with, or without spaces will upload.

Often, users may not have postal code files of who, where, or what they want to profile. IntelligentVIEW solves that problem with its file merging, segmenting, and uploading functionality and access to audience builder tools and intelligentSEGMENTS.

Files can be added at many places in the workflow, but all files used in intelligentVIEW can be found on the files page, accessed by clicking on the files menu in the side navigation bar. You can also find your most recent files under my files on the dashboard.

Like the project page, the file page is your central resource to see and work with all your organizations files. From this page you can sort alphabetically, by # of postal codes included in the file, date created, project names, and who created the file. This is a very useful page if you are trying to find an existing file to use in a new project or to run a new report.
